Everton offered £4.5m defender by French giants
Everton have already made a defensive signing in James Tarkowski. However, more reinforcements could arrive at Goodison Park this summer. Everton have now been offered PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa.
The club has just over two weeks to build up their squad before the start of the season and Paris Saint Germain may have offered the club a defensive player. Kurzawa is a 29-year old French native who has played his entire career in the French League 1 but recently he’s struggled to find minutes within his club.
Kurzawa arrived at PSG in 2015 and played well up until now where he is being replaced by a youth movement. The team acquired young superstar Nuno Mendes who cost the team over £40 million. Nunes is most certainly a lock to start next season and PSG have indicated their need for Kurzawa is behind them.
The Toffees are in need of another full back on the roster as there is no backup to Vitaliy Mykolenko. Niels Nkounkou could be sent on another loan as he continues to develop his game and the best solution for him would be to leave on loan and gain valuable playing time.
Everton offered PSG left back Layvin Kurzawa
According to French publication Media Foot, Everton and Leeds United have been offered the chance to sign Kurzawa from PSG. The former AS Monaco man is clearly out of favour at PSG and his departure is almost guaranteed. He wasn’t even included in the pre-season squad that traveled to Japan.
Everton do not have an abundant amount of money to spend on transfers hence making smart transfers with low investment should be a wise strategy. PSG’s asking price for Kurzawa is likely around the 5 million figure, based on his market value on Transfermarkt. This wouldn’t be a signing that truly shakes up the roster but depth players are often crucial to attaining some degree of success in the Premier League.
Just last season the Toffees dealt with a plethora of injury issues and it greatly contributed to their struggle during the entirety of the campaign. An experienced player in the locker room could also boost team morale and remain ready in the wings to provide cover. This club needs good leadership to turn around their misfortunes and it all starts with veteran leaders.
Do you think Kurzawa would be a good signing for Everton?
