Everton host Crystal Palace on Saturday as they hope to bounce back after three consecutive losses in the league. The defeats showed that Everton aren’t incisive enough in the attack and need more support and creativity while going forward.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin started his first game of the season after recovering from a knee injury that he suffered before the start of the season. Everton welcomed back Mason Holgate to the squad though he remained as an unused substitute in the game against Newcastle United.

Everton are badly missing Nathan Patterson who picked up an ankle injury on national duty. When going forward, the attackers aren’t getting the desired support from the full backs as Vitaliy Mykolenko has recently been dormant in the attacking third whereas Seamus Coleman struggled to cover the whole right hand side of the pitch.

Everton desperately need to get back to winning ways or at least put up a hearty performance or it won’t be long before people start doubting Frank Lampard’s capabilities. The rebuild is a long one and supporters need to remain patient with Lampard because he has taken a squad that was in shambles and injected confidence and belief into the squad.

Everton Team News vs Crystal Palace

Ahead of the game against Crystal Palace, Lampard was asked if Calvert-Lewin is ready to start back to back games in quick succession.

"We’ll see. (via club’s official YouTube Channel)"

When asked about Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey and Patterson, there was some positive news for the taking as a return date for Patterson was given. Meanwhile, Godfrey is back in the early stages of his recovery.

"[Yerry] he’s not back yet. Patterson is progressing and training with us and will be fit hopefully for the next week. Godfrey will be training with us next week. Early stages but he’s back with us."

Everton face Fulham next week and the possibility of Patterson returning to the side is a huge boost given the attacking abilities he has and how effective Everton looked with him in the side.
