Everton have been handed a transfer boost in the chase of Brazilian winger Tete. The Toffees are looking for a winger this summer even after the addition of Arnaut Danjuma. EFC currently have four wingers in their squad but there are chances of Demarai Gray leaving the club which would open the doors to the arrival for a new winger.

Gray has been linked with a move away as Besiktas, Fulham, Crystal Palace and a Saudi Arabian club. The player is in the final 12 months of his deal and the doors of possibilities are open. Gray could leave but he could also end up staying as he previously indicated that he wants to contribute to the team next season.

Everton have been making attempts to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United with widespread reports suggesting that the Toffees are in pole position to sign the Italian. However, other reports suggest that Gnonto’s advisers are not completely convinced with the idea of moving to Goodison Park and EFC are looking at potential alternatives for the Leeds winger.

Everton could sign Brazilian winger Tete for free

Brazilian winger Tete is one of the players on the alternative list. The player spent the second half of the season on loan at Leicester City, scoring on his debut for the Foxes. However, the 23 year old failed to replicate that form for the rest of the season. He returned to Shakhtar Donetsk upon the end of his loan spell.

The Brazilian was attracting interest from several sides this summer and the latest update will be a huge boost to Everton and all the other interested parties. According to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Tete has terminated his contract with Skhahtar and is a free agent after documents were submitted to FIFA.

Tete is rated at €25 million but now since he is a free agent, Everton can land him for free. This will massively help EFC upgrade their wide options and even save money that can be used for signing a new striker. The 23 year old might not have excelled at Leicester but he is quick, agile and direct, someone who would add pace to the attack and fit well in Sean Dyche’s system.

Celtic and Fenerbahce also remain interested in signing the former Shakhtar Donetsk winger. However, EFC need to move quickly or they risk missing out on a free transfer.
