3 signings that could catapult Everton into European qualification

Everton's victory at the Hill Dickinson Stadium pushed the opening day nightmare out of their mind, and truly got the Toffees dreaming of Europe again. With the transfer window still open, these three signings will catapult them to contention this year.

After several seasons of battling against relegation, Everton has undergone a dramatic transformation. The club's financial stability, bolstered by new ownership, has been matched by an ambitious summer transfer window that has seen a host of talented players arrive at the newly opened Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Back in May, ambitions were set high with talk of up to ten new signings, but the summer window has largely been one of frustration for Moyes and the fans. In recent weeks, though, spirits have lifted thanks to the arrivals of Jack Grealish, Tyler Dibling, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, each adding real quality to the squad.

Now the question is: which three players could truly transform those European dreams into a genuine possibility?

Hector Fort

One of Fort’s standout qualities is his tactical intelligence; he presses high, recovers quickly, and maintains shape, traits that fit seamlessly into Moyes’ defensive structure. Add in his comfort on the ball, and he could immediately strengthen Everton’s often shaky transitions out of defence.

The physical demands of the Premier League might pose a challenge at first, but that’s nothing a steady diet of protein shakes and a few hours in the gym can’t fix. Pair him up with Seamus Coleman on the training ground, and the young Spaniard could develop into the ultimate modern right-back.

Conor Gallagher

A significant fee would be required to sign the Englishman, and it would be money well spent if a deal of around £40 million is agreed upon.

While it's unlikely that Atlético Madrid wants to sell him, the club could be tempted by a fee that meets their valuation, especially given the number of reinforcements they have signed this summer.

For Everton, however, this investment could be worth it. The England international remains one of the most underrated midfielders in European football, with his relentless pressing and energy standing out as his greatest assets.

These qualities would represent an immediate upgrade, while also creating space for younger players to develop without the weight of expectation. His blend of work rate, ball recovery, and transitional play could give Everton's midfield a balance it has been missing for a long time.

Charlie Cresswell

Everton should be all over this signing. As a back-up defender, he offers rock-solid cover for James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, while also pushing Michael Keane out of the comfort zone. Let’s be honest, he’s already the better option and, with his ceiling, the long-term upgrade we desperately need.

With Borussia Dortmund circling, this is exactly the kind of talent we can’t afford to let slip away. An England Under-21 international who brings not just reliability but calm, progressive passing from the back, he’d slot straight into Moyes’ system.

With Branthwaite’s future uncertain, he could be the difference between another shaky season and building a defence fans can finally trust.
