El Bobble, who generally serves as the final step in the process that big news is coming for Everton, is indicating that the Toffees are "closing in on an agreement for Tyler Dibling," with a reported fee of £40 million plus add-ons.
Other outlets, such as Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano, have also confirmed that the move is imminent.
The situation has seemingly been going on for ages, although it has really just been since Everton returned from the United States that the club began to inquire about the young Englishman's availability.
Still, in terms of transfer business, that is a rather long time, especially as Everton supporters continue to watch other deals getting done in what seems like a matter of days.
Regardless, if the deal gets done, Dibling will join as the eighth summer signing for David Moyes' side, also becoming the second teenager to join, after left back Adam Aznou, who came from Bayern Munich and won't turn 20 until next summer.
Dibling, who is a bit older than Aznou, having turned 19 in March, has seen himself on a rather meteoric rise over the last year or so, having only made his true senior debut for Southampton in a series of Cup cameos during the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns.
But it wasn't until last season, when the Saints were in the Premier League, that he saw anything in the neighborhood of regular starting minutes, although it was still just over 1800 minutes in 33 appearances (20 starts). He managed to score just twice, but the eye test suggested a player who needed more around him to succeed.
At Everton, he'll have the inside track to start on a weekly basis on the right wing, since Everton have no real cover there, although the Toffees have attempted to utilize players like Charly Alcaraz and Dwight McNeil in that slot.
And there's no doubt that the attacking talent around him — namely, Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish, Alcaraz, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall — should provide Dibling with more opportunities to use his creativity.
Until the club confirms the move, this is still speculation. But it is good to see that the long saga is nearly over.
