Everton boss still wants two more midfielders and wingers as Chelsea star joins

A major UK media outlet is claiming the Blues wants at least six more signings as Everton have had an offer for Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall accepted.

Everton supporters have been watching and waiting for the new signings this summer that their team so desperately needs, but so far there have only been four new players, one of whom was already on loan, of course.

Now it appears as though the Blues are finally managing to prise open the market after a frustrating summer, and are getting deals done, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall possibly being followed by Southampton's Tyler Dibling.

The young Saints winger is perhaps still, to some extent, an unknown quantity, as he is relatively inexperienced and might not be able to start straight away and make the sort of immediate impact David Moyes needs.

Dewsbury-Hall, though, is a player who has both Premier League and European experience, having made over 150 appearances for the Leicester City, and just played in the Europa Conference League with Chelsea last season.

So, he should be able to come into the Everton midfield and make an impact straight away, given that level of past experience.

On top of this news, the Daily Telegraph says that Moyes now wants a total of six more new faces through the doors at Finch Farm before the end of the transfer window.

This report claims the focus of the club's recruitment will be on adding two midfielders and two wingers, with time running out before the start of the new Premier League season.

Everton also presumably still want a new right-back after they have spent a lot of time in this window chasing several full-backs, and with Moyes clearly not rating Nathan Patterson, who has struggled in preseason. In addition, he should ideally be in the market for another striker, too.

With just under two weeks to go before the 2025/26 campaign kicks off, the need for urgency is obvious. We have to hope that with a poor and frustrating tour of America behind them, that again underlined the team's issues, the club hierarchy can get on with pushing these deals over the line.
