Lee Carsley has called up Harrison Armstrong for England Under 21's after Jobe Bellingham and Lewis Miley returned to their clubs, allowing the 19-year old to take his spot in the squad, joining up with fellow teammates Tyler Dibling and Tyrique George.

He can count himself quite unlucky not to have been given a look-in since the start of the international break, given his fine form for the Toffees, and he also tops the charts for distance covered in the Premier League this season.

Armstrong started for England Under-20s in their matchup against Italy in the Elite League, being substituted in a 3-1 triumph, whilst making an appearance from the bench as England overcame France by two goals to one.

The former Everton midfielder hasn't lost a game in charge of England's top academy in over a year, winning 10 out of the last 11.

Should Armstrong lace his boots for Carsley's men against Slovakia tonight, it would be his first appearance at the highest youth level, which provides a stepping stone to earn a cap for England, potentially joining 1301 players, with Alex Scott claiming the most recent first.

Mykolenko Update

Travelling across Europe, Vitaly Mykolenko has had quite the redemption arc for an unbeaten Everton side this season, but he's returned to Finch Farm due to a minor injury, having been absent from the squad in Ukraine's recent Nations League fixture.

""We cannot count on Mykolenko. He is not feeling very well. We respect him and would not want him to suffer a more serious injury""
Ukraine Head Coach Andrea Maldera

Pickford to start or benched again?

James Trafford has been selected for both of England's Nations League matches ahead of Jordan Pickford, conceding three to Spain, and keeping a clean sheet against ten men Czechia.

The North-East-born shot-stopper has yet to appear for the Three Lions this international break; only Jason Steele partners him with 0 minutes. It may be a passing of the torch, but most likely, Tuchel is granting the younger Leeds goalkeeper, who's in fine form, a chance at the highest level before knockout rounds commence.

Norgaard Returns

Delight for Everton fans as newly signed midfielder from Arsenal Christian Norgaard is back on the grass and, for the first time at Finch Farm, having passed his medical with a slight injury.

Moyes stated in his previous press conference before the international break was underway that fans can expect the Dane to appear in action when the Premier League returns, and it serves as a boost for the Toffees with yet another winner of the competition switching to represent in royal blue.
