Everton should be all over this €50 million West Ham attacker

With Everton looking to spend on a big offensive piece, this African international may be worth looking at.

According to Graeme Bailey, West Ham's Mohammed Kudus is "set to move within the Premier League" this summer. If you recall, David Moyes previously coached the Ghanaian international during his stint with the Hammers.

From a financial point of view, this signing would be expensive but manageable. Remember, Everton were willing to pay €30 million for Liam Delap.

Kudus, having experience playing under Moyes, would provide Everton with a player who knows exactly what the gaffer is looking for in an attacker. Kudus can play in all three forward positions and is extremely comfortable on the right side.

If Everton were to make this signing happen, I believe they would look for cheaper options in midfield to fill up the roster. Diomande would be a great option at a cheap price, and at the fullback positions, there are plenty of options in the top five leagues.

Now, the big question is whether the price is equal to the value they're getting. I believe that a player of his caliber would add so much to a group of offensive players that desperately needs talent. This is the type of signing that would elevate the team from lower mid-table to competing for a finish in the top half of the table.

Yet, I could also see the perspective that Everton need to cover more than one position, and splashing a substantial part of their budget on Kudus might seem irresponsible. Kudus only had eight goal contributions in 32 Premier League matches this season. That type of production can be given by players that cost a fifth of what West Ham might demand for Kudus.

It's clear that Kudus is more valuable than the goals and assists he provides. He adds a style of play that opens up space for teammates around him. If Everton have to spend on that luxury, then so be it.
