FPL Gameweek 3: Be patient with Everton new signing, as other options are better

For FPL managers, the price of Everton's new signing might look like a bargain, but it's best to be patient. Hold off on the transfer and see how he performs before bringing him into your squad with better options available.

For FPL managers, a new player signing is always exciting, especially when a significant transfer fee is involved. Tyler Dibling recently joined Everton from Southampton for a reported fee of £42 million, making him an immediate point of interest for fantasy managers.

The 19-year-old winger is now available for selection ahead of Everton's upcoming Premier League match against Wolves, although David Moyes is unlikely to throw him in the deep end. His arrival adds to a talented attacking lineup that includes Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye, and adds to the likely FPL Everton players being selected.

When a new player signs for a club, the first thing FPL managers look at is their price tag. Tyler Dibling's £5.5m price for Everton might seem like a bargain, especially given his potential for regular playing time.

However, it's wise to be patient. Wait to see how he is integrated into the team and how he performs in his first few matches before making the transfer. There's no need to rush a valuable spot in your squad.

Don’t forget, he still managed 68 points last season while Southampton were sinking fast, so with more stability and regular game time, you’d expect that tally to be comfortably beaten this time around.

Better options

Last weekend, we saw Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish rack up the FPL spoils with eight and twelve points respectively as Grealish bagged both assists in the match. At under £7m each, they’re the kind of mid-priced gems that tick along with steady returns while still leaving room in your budget for the heavy hitters like Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, or Cole Palmer.

If your midfield’s already stacked (and wisely free of Everton assets), a returning Vitalii Mykolenko at £4.9m could be a tidy bargain. Solid defensively with the odd assist threat, he offers great value.

Another defensive shout is Jake O’Brien, with a clean sheet looking tempting given that Jørgen Strand Larsen is likely to miss out amid transfer speculation.

Who knows whether Everton will bring in Gameweek 3 points, however, we end the weekend happy if the maximum 3 points maximum are secured at Molineux today.
