After weeks of speculation and curiosity, Jack Grealish has officially been confirmed as an Everton player for the 2025/26 campaign, joining from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

While the specifics of the deal have not been disclosed, earlier reports suggested that any team taking Grealish on for the season would need to pay all of his rather hefty wages. There is no confirmation of whether or not that will be the case, although a reported £50 million buy option has been attached.

Grealish will wear the number 18 shirt at Everton this season, made most famous by a young Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, two men whom Grealish noted among his favorite English players.

The England international noted in his first interview for Everton he's "over the moon" and that as "soon as [he] spoke to the manager there was only one place [he] wanted to go," something that Everton supporters will be pleased to hear.

Manager David Moyes appears ready to get Grealish back to the player he was, recognizing that his "ambition is to get back into the England squad so hopefully we can help him achieve that over the course of the season."

On that front, Grealish will need to make sure he stays on top of his game, especially with the World Cup set for next summer, making his Everton loan spell vital to his chances of making that squad. He'll also have just one year left on his contract after this year, meaning he needs to show that the last two seasons in the Premier League with City were a blip.

If he can do that, then this could be a positive move for both parties, as a motivated and productive Jack Grealish could help Everton secure a better position in the table.
