The Blues announced today that Jesper Lindstrom has signed for the club on loan with an option to buy included in the deal.

This transfer was well anticipated and after this morning's official confirmation the Danish international has become the fourth player Everton have signed so far this summer.

Bringing Lindstrom in for the next Premier League season looks like a good deal for the Toffees, especially because he is only on loan so there is no significant up-front fee.

Everton have the option to buy the player permanently next year, if he has performed as well as we all hope he can do in the coming campaign.

Adding the 24-year-old forward will give Sean Dyche another attacking option behind his striker, alongside Jack Harrison, Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye.

Lindstrom can operate wide or play behind the centre-forward and so is another versatile attacker who can fit in well with Dyche's favoured formation.

Although he struggled last season at Napoli in Serie A and failed to score a goal or manage an assist.

However, that is hopefully, an aberration given his previous performances in his native Denmark and then in German football with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The other issue is whether Lindstrom and his new team-mates will have Dominic Calvert-Lewin to play behind or if not, who will be that lone centre-forward?

If Calvert-Lewin does leave then the Toffees will have to either trust one of the existing strikers Beto or Youssef Chermiti or try and bring in someone new.

Another question is will the Blues add more forward talent to their squad as rumours continue that Everton are keen to finally bring Leeds United's Wilfred Gnonto to Goodison Park.

If they do then I think the club will have genuinely improved and strengthened in that final third where clearly the obvious improvement was most needed.
