Although they have re-signed Jack Harrison and added Iliman Ndiaye to the squad, Everton are still looking for further attacking reinforcements out wide.

There were links to Newcastle United's Yankuba Minteh - while the Magpies were said to be moving towards a deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin,- before that potential transfer fell through when Newcastle pulled out.

On Calvert-Lewin by the way, there are reports circulating that the North East club do still want to sign him and may well come back for another try to secure his signing.

Returning to the search for more wide talent, then came the recent on-off deal for Hull City's Jaden Philogene, a possible move that became increasingly farcical as Philogene was first said to be keen on moving to the Blues and then Ipswich Town, before finally it seems returning to Aston Villa.

Now, according to this report, the Toffees have moved on to the Danish star who is currently playing in Serie A with Napoli.

Lindstrom has found it tough at Diego Maradona's former club and although he played twenty-two times last season, he failed to score a single goal.

Perhaps part of the reason for this lack of goals was the constant upheaval in managers at the Italian club where three separate coaches came and went.

That record though is hardly reassuring as Everton desperately need more goals from a team that only managed a paltry forty strikes in the last Premier League campaign.

However, Lindstrom's record at previous clubs Eintracht Frankfurt and Brondby, is much better and suggests he can deliver the sort of production needed by the Blues.

The potential deal being discussed would it appears be a loan move with a clause to buy at the end of that period.

So, signing him - even for just a season - on those terms, would be a bit of a risk given that recent record and the possibility his confidence has been adversely affected by his struggles.
