Everton have already brought in three forwards with the loan signings of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom and also Iliman Ndiaye on a permanent deal.
This seemed to be it as far as attacking additions was concerned with manager Sean Dyche hinting a little while ago that further new signings were unlikely.
However, there are still constant reports that other players may also join them before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
One serious issue that could curtail further spending is that the Blues are now facing once again a very uncertain future which could have serious financial issues in the long-term.
With the collapse of The Friedkin Group's attempted takeover, Everton are back in that uncertain ownership limbo which has regrettably been the case for so long now.
So, it seems as though the only way the Toffees will be able to add any further new talent to the first-team squad - if they want to - is through further player sales.
Rumours continue that Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will both leave Merseyside before the end of the month. So far though, both are still at Goodison Park.
At the same time, Everton continue to be linked with a host of further names with some of them coming up repeatedly in this constant media chatter.
A new player to be cast into the mix of transfer talk and linked with a move to Merseyside is theAlmeria forward Largie Ramazani.
The Belgian plays across the frontline with his best positions appearing to be wide on the left or right, although he can also operate as a striker.
Being able to play as a central striker might be useful if the Blues do sell Calvert-Lewin although Ramazani's goal return is not exactly high enough for someone in that position.
As we always say at this stage such a story is purely speculative with little solid foundation of course, but ideally I would like to see Everton add another attacker, if they can find the resources to do so.
