Everton to miss out on possible Theo Walcott successor as the player prefers Serie A
Everton may miss out signing transfer target Oussama Idrissi who touted as Theo Walcott’s successor at Goodison Park but the winger prefers a move to Serie A.
Cengiz Under, Jose Callejon, Denis Bounaga and many others have been linked with a move to Everton as Carlo Ancelotti desperately screams to the club board to buy a new right winger. Marcel Brands is aware about the poor state on the right flank and is putting every possible effort in signing a new winger.
The Everton board has even tried to work out on signing a player capable of playing on both flanks. So far, the blue half of Merseyside has had to return disappointed as the search continues to go on.
For any decent Football fan, it is no rocket science to understand how depleted the Everton right flank is. There is only one traditional right winger in the team that is Theo Walcott, who is currently out injured. Even when fit, the 31 year old is a shadow of a player he used to be at Arsenal.
The Toffees had another target in mind, AZ Alkmaar winger Oussama Idrissi. The Dutch- Moroccan one of the hottest properties on the scene and has had a brilliant season in the Eredivisie. The 24 year old has played 42 games this season and has been involved in 27 goal contributions (17 goals and 10 assists). The Merseyside club was tracking Idrissi and was really impressed with right footed winger.
According to VoetbalPrimeur, Oussama Idrissi told in an interview that has ambitions to leave AZ Alkmaar. However, here’s the catch, he is open to switching the Eredivisie for Serie A rather than the Premier League. Serie A teams Napoli and AS Roma are linked to the 24 year old winger and might perceive this as a major boost in their chase.

"I have the ambition to take the next step. That is certainly a level that you want to work towards. Italy is a very beautiful country with a top league, so I, like all other players, definitely have the ambition to play there."
This will be a huge upset for Toffees as they are pressing to find a Theo Walcott replacement. Now, Marcel Brands may not be able to offload Theo Walcott as there are no buyers at the moment. But, a player of Idrissi’s stature can replace Walcott in the starting eleven.
The Dutch-Moroccan would have been a viable option and even though he is known to be a left winger by trade, he is versatile enough to flourish at the right wing. He’s done that in the past and has fascinated many with his performances on the right flank as well.
Everton looks to miss out on Oussama Idrissi which will be another setback for the club hierarchy as the search for a superior winger goes on.
