Memphis Depay and Piotr Zielinski are players Everton can chase.

2. Memphis Depay

Memphis Depay, the talisman of the Olympique Lyon team has returned to action in time for the all-important Champions League round of 16 tie against Juventus. If there is one person secretly happy with the Corona Virus lockdown and forced halt to football, it will be Depay.

The Dutch forward picked up a cruciate ligament injury in December ruling him out for the entire season. However, the extended season has given him adequate time to complete rehabilitation and join Lyon on their Champions League voyage.

Off the field though, Memphis Depay has found himself stuck in a dilemma whether to stay in France or try his luck elsewhere. He has been rejecting any advances from the Ligue 1 club over the talks of a new deal as his current deal runs till 2021, giving a hint that he is considering his future.

Everton were linked to him in the past but no concrete talks were held. Should Memphis Depay continue to postpone talks of his future, Marcel Brands can actually consider making Depay the face of the overhaul.

3. Piotr Zielinski

Piotr Zielinski has been the backbone of the Napoli midfield and has stepped into Marek Hamsik’s shoes after the Serbian left Naples. Zielinksi has been impressive this season too, polishing his overall attributes as a midfielder.

The Pole is a versatile midfielder blessed with stunning technique. He can play anwhere across midfield and possess everything you want from a modern day midfielder. Zielinski can create chances in the final third, send opponents for a ride with his quick feet and retain the ball from opposition by pressing them. The fearless Pole does fancy his chances from 40 yards out and has often found the net from that distance.

The 26 year old’s contract is set to expire next summer and even though Napoli are happy to have him, Piotr Zielinski may consider a new challenge in form of Premier League football. Carlo Ancelotti knows the 26 year old well and can act as a massive persuasive factor in the deal.
