Ruben Loftus-Cheek is a target for Everton

1. Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been one Chelsea player that has already been linked with Everton. The midfielder has failed to get into Thomas Tuchel’s regular plans and remains a squad option. The 26 year old has played just 1024 minutes of football and started just 9 games this season.

Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have been starters while the likes of RLC, Ross Barkley and Saul Niguez remain options from the bench. Loftus-Cheek is also wanted by Juventus should they offload Arthur, who is a target for Arsenal.

As for Everton, they are in desperate need for midfield reinforcements after Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph have been sidelined due to injuries. The Toffees are lingering just above the relegation zone and will need a full strength side to avoid a relegation scrap. Doucoure was supposed to be a pillar in this battle but with him being out for a significant period, Everton have to fill in.

Frank Lampard could make use of Loftus-Cheek in an effective way. He is competent and efficient and most effective when playing as a part of a midfield three. He can play in an advanced role as well as get deeper. RLC is in constant search of space, applying his awareness and intelligence to aid the attack.

Under Benitez, the Royal Blues operated in a midfield two and were overrun and dominated against smarter and quality filled sides. Whenever the Toffees played a midfield three, some success came their way as they started winning the midfield tussles. If Lampard manages to secure a loan deal for Loftus-Cheek, Everton can form a solid midfield.
